I must be used to the original, since even though this layout is real cool and the art is fantastic, this version looks a bit odd to me with the text positioned on the Lady. She's special -- after all, you have 35 stories written about her, so she's REAL special!
The lighting at the top makes putting the title up there a challenge. I've never really liked vertical lettering, but I'll experiment around with it. I tried to keep the title in the dark areas.
Very slick, very classy. The gold border is just the thing. Reminiscent of a little bit I once read about weavers leaving a small opening in the borders of their carpets so the jinn would not be trapped in the pattern--this time all the magic stays within!

Re: Ruins Cover Art
When will the book actually be available? I'm very curious to see what the other authors wrote about that cover.

(BTW, that trim is a cool touch!)
I'm really excited about this book!
